Title : Boom of nanomaterials in environmental remediation

Abstract:

Nanotechnology is emerging as a transformative approach in environmental remediation, offering enhanced methods for pollution control and ecosystem restoration. Nanoparticles and nanofibers play an important role in the degradation of contaminants like heavy metals, pesticides, organic dyes and other toxic pollutants.

Toxic organic pollutants that are discharged from various industries and activities affect environmental properties and their sustainability. I will discuss types of persistent pollutants and their effects on human beings and environment. I will address a brief description, unique properties of NMs and role in the degradation of organic pollutants. Talk includes various methods that are extensively used in the mineralization of organic pollutants and removal of heavy metals from the environment and challenges observed when using those processes.
