Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis focuses on the development and use of efficient synthetic techniques and strategies in organic bioorganic pharmaceutical natural product macromolecular and materials chemistry to stimulate and advance the processes.

Catalytic systems are made up of a metal and a ligand, consisting of an activator and a deactivator.

Several catalyst design options were considered: (1) altering the nature of the support to influence the formation of a Pd-containing active site; (2) altering the active site by a second metal addition; (3) altering the metal deposition method and reduction agent to influence the formation of an active site. The molecular intricacies of many important chemical reactions have now been revealed, and this knowledge is critical for intelligently designing novel catalysts.
